Maine...Again

This past weekend we went up to Harpswell, Maine (near Bath) to spend time with our friends Jim and Catharine who had rented a house there. Yes, Maine again, but I think I've already stressed how much we love it up there. Anyways, yesterday Vimal took a bunch of pictures of Ellis and I on the hammock. There are like 30 more, but I'll spare you the collage. Today, believe it or not, is Ellis' 7 month birthday. It feels so far and yet so close at the same time. The other day Vimal told Ellis, "Okay, that's enough growing for 2008. Slow down!" And, that really does communicate how we feel about the whole thing. It's all happening too fast already, and we're just trying to enjoy every moment.
Next week, L.A.! Maybe she'll get discovered :)

No Longer Toothless

"You guys are funny!"
"What?"
"I'm just trying to get some reading done here!"
"This is a good book."

So today Ellis woke up on the grumpy side of things and all day she refused to eat or even open her mouth. I was so frustrated by this afternoon that I couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. Then, I was laying on my back with Ellis on my stomach and she started to laugh. I looked up and, yep, saw her first tooth. It's sharp and white and coming through her bottom gums. Mostly, I was just relieved to figure out that Ellis was not turning into a different child altogether, she was just trying not to open her mouth! Of course, as a result of this, I don't have any pics of her new tooth but I'll post one when I can. Anyways, it's here. At this rate it feels like next week I'll be helping her fill out college applications!

Last week Vimal turned 30, and his two sisters and mom flew up to Boston to surprise him on his birthday. We all went to his office and he couldn't believe it! It was a great day, and Vimal was so happy to have his family here. His sisters stayed through the weekend, and his mom will be here until next Monday. Ellis loves her Bah (which means grandmother), and it's been great to spend more time with Vimal's side of the family.
