Ladies and Gentlemen...She did it!

Well, I guess now it really IS just a matter of time before Ellis leaves us. Last night she rolled over five times. This is her 4th go and, as you can tell, we're both so excited! But Ellis was looking at us like it really wasn't that big of a deal after all.

Our Chatham Vacation...

Ellis loves the ocean water in her toes
She also liked the feel of sand between her toes
Daddy and Daughter in the water
Sandcastles!
I like this one because you can see Vimal's reflection in my sunglasses
All of us, except Cairn, who is taking the photo...
It used to be four of us, now there's six!
Robert and Ellis bonding
Cairn and Ellis hanging out in the kitchen
She really does love her daddy!

For Memorial Day weekend, Vimal and I rented a house in Chatham on Cape Cod with some of our dear friends. We had a wonderful time, though we really wish it had lasted longer. But, Ellis did great. In fact, the last night we were there, she slept for 12 hours straight...from 6 to 6! I was thrilled, though I'm not holding my breath that she'll keep that up quite yet. The best part of the whole trip, though, was that Ellis got to see, feel, and smell the ocean for the first time. She got to dip her toes in the water, though not for long because the water is still pretty cold! Now it's back to real life, but I think we all enjoyed the break while it lasted.

Daddy Conversations

I shot this video of Vimal and Ellis on Saturday. She wanted to complain about all the things mommy had done the past week. She loves to talk/grumble now. She's just like her daddy...constantly jabbering on about something or another. :)

Four Months Old Today

Vimal picked out this onesie for her!
Close-up of the onesie that daddy bought her
After a long week, Ellis has a lot to tell her daddy about.
She loves 2 things now: eating her hands and spreading her toes
Her birthday present
She still has time to pose for the camera.
"Thanks mommy, I love it."
Her toes were gripping the exersaucer for dear life
"What? I've got this mastered now. What else you got?"

Today Ellis is exactly four months old! Vimal and I can't believe how much we love her already, and we can't imagine our lives before her. We are truly blessed to have her in our lives, and we can't wait to watch her grow. For her birthday, we bought her a jumper/exersaucer. It only took her a minute to start jumping and playing with it. And the onesie is something that Vimal found online. It was called "an Indian elephant" which made us both chuckle. More soon...

She's like an adult trapped in a baby's body...

I just wanted to post a quick video of Ellis grabbing for her toy bug. I noticed the last couple of days that she's flailing her arms less and, instead, is deliberately reaching for things. I'm pretty sure this video proves it. What can I say? She might be a genius. :) And I'm thinking she's a leftie too.

Mother's Day and More...

Beauty Shot!

Bug conversations are still taking place
Just look at that grip!
Those toys don't stand a chance
Ellis would rather look at the camera than acknowledge the kisses...

I was so excited to celebrate my first Mother's Day as a mom. Vimal woke me up in the morning by saying, "So, you've got an eleven o'clock massage scheduled." I swear that those are the best words to be woken up by! After sneaking some kisses from Ellis, I went to the massage, then I met Vimal and Ellis for brunch. It was a gorgeous day and we were able to sit outside and enjoy it. All in all, I had a great day and I can't wait for next year!

I'm posting some pictures from this past week. Things are going well here. Ellis is napping in her crib and sleeping about 10 hours per night still. I weighed her last week and she topped out at a whopping 11lbs 13ozs...not as much as I had hoped but definitely progress. Also, she's getting very deliberate when grabbing at things now, as you can see from the pics. Enjoy.

Our Week in Pictures...

Little Tennis Player--just look how long she is!

Sleeping, instead of burping
Mommy Kisses
This week was pretty laid back for our little family. Ellis has started being a lot more active/engaging/aware/precocious which means that we're about to have our hands full! The sleeping at night is still going well and right now, as I write this, she has fallen asleep on her own in her crib...after only a few minutes of crying. I don't think we're out of the woods with a nap schedule yet, but we're definitely headed in the right direction. Well, that's all from me this week. I'll post more soon...

A little video of our little game...

This is just a quick post of a video that I took today. She's started to mimic what people do, so when I blow bubbles with my lips she tries to do the same. Sorry it's shot a little weird but I had the camera on the floor so I could get her attention. It helps if you turn your head to the side so you can watch her lips move. Hope you enjoy the video. I think she's hilarious!

She's already trying to leave us...

Holding her own bottle
This is her "Can't you just give me some milk?" face!
Her hair is getting so long now
Tummy time is exhausting

This weekend Ellis announced her impending departure from our cozy little nest. First, she took the bottle out of Vimal's hands and began feeding herself. Then, she started raising her head further than she ever has during tummy time. She hasn't quite rolled over yet, but I know she's close and, once she starts, it's just a matter of time before she rolls right on out of here. Anyways, just few pics and a video of her accomplishments from this past weekend.

No more counting by weeks, I promise!

I love her profile!
Supergirl~just look at that neck control people!
Supergirl close up!
With Jack~I sat him beside her and she grabbed for him herself
Sleeping in her new swing~SHE LOVES IT!

Ellis is fifteen weeks old today and I've decided that this is the last post that I will announce her age in weeks for...I mean, at this rate, I'll be posting something like "today Ellis turns 116 weeks old" and I really want to spare everyone that. This last week was a bit hard as we've started training her to nap during the day. Up until now, we've pretty much let her sleep whenever she wants, but as she nears four months old it's definitely time to change that. (Luckily night sleep has always gone well and she's still sleeping about 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. everyday!) I finally gave in and bought her a swing, which she easily falls asleep in during the day and then she gets moved to her crib. It's working so far. And, in the last week, she's begun grabbing for toys and getting her thumb in her mouth. She's growing so fast that I'm beginning to get a little sad about it. Not sad enough to think about having another one, but sad nonetheless. More soon...
